The beach is a difficult location for almost all metal detectors, except the Pulse Induction ones. The wet and salty sand is conductive and this is a problem. In addition many beaches have very mineralized sands, that make things even worse.
What you should know about beach detecting is you must run your machine with very low power settings. On this particular model by Golden Mask, you should use Gain – 0 and PowerBox – Low. With this settings the machine still has good depth and perfect recovery speed, but runs smoothly and with very few ghost signals.
If you are experienced enough, you could run the detector with more power and still achieve very good results. See the video on how a Golden Mask expert does it with ease.
